The St. John Safety Passport scheme (SSPS) was established in response to the needs identified
within industry and has undertaken to develop and extend the safety passport culture across all
interested sectors in INDIA. ST.JOHN SAFETY AND HEALTH SOCIETY (SAHS) is a leading and only
safety passport body with a strong reputation for delivering health and safety courses.
SAHS quality control procedures – tried and tested methods of designing effective practical
training programs – are an important component in providing peace of mind about the scheme’s security.
The St.John Safety Passport Scheme was successfully launched on 15 April 2007.This scheme is the leading
multi-industry safety passport training scheme. A significant proportion of key industry sectors are
already in partnership with the SAHS developing tailored industry-specific training packs.
This industry-led, nationally recognised scheme accredited by National Board of Health Safety
Standards and Accreditation (NBHSSA).
The aim of the St. John Safety Passport Scheme is to ensure knowledge of health and safety for all
site personnel to enable them, after appropriate site induction, to work on site more safely with
lower risk to themselves and others. Safety passport genuinely reflects an understanding of the
hazards and risks associated with the work that the holder will undertake.
St. John Safety Passport Scheme is committed to create a world of work which is safe, healthy and
sustainable and also in providing a nationally recognised standard of health and safety training
and assurance, which is cost-effective, easily accessible, tests delegates' knowledge and
caters for each industry sector.
